- I recently spent a very pleasant afternoon visiting the town. Once the site of a Benedictine abbey, the only remains to be seen today are some medieval floor tiles on display in the very impressive 15th century church of St. Peter. The church also has a lovely east window and some amazingly detailed gargoyles outside. Further along the main street is a real gem - the railway museum and gardens. Its well worth a visit, even if you're not interested in trains, and is so much larger than you would imagine. Sudeley Castle is on the edge of town and just 5 miles down the road is the remains of Hailes Abbey (National Trust) which is well worth seeing. |
