STEAM - Swindon
STEAM is a brilliant museum tracking British Railways throughout the years. Many exciting exhibits of real steam engines which you can enter including 92220 the 'Evening Star' which I first saw in the sixties.
Great collection of engines and carriages as well as recreation of a station based on the fifties/sixties.
Areas also include the GWR Offices, The Works and Machine Shop.
Good shop, refreshments.
One of my favourite places and not to be missed, takes me back to my train-spotting days as a kid.
