Malmesbury Abbey

Only part of this magnificent Abbey in Malmesbury remains but worship still takes place here in the main building. The abbey dates from the 12th century, and at one time had a spire over 400 feet tall matching that of Salisbury Cathedral.
Whilst in Malmesbury one of the oldest boroughs in England take time to visit the well known Abbey House Gardens. There is also a River Walk which takes about an hour. As at the local Tourist info centre.
Malmesbury is a special place and my home town.
