Castle - Situated a short boat trip from Castlebay on the Isle of
Barra, this ancient clan seat of Chiefs of Clan Macneil is surrounded by
the sea. A surprise awaits you when you enter the medieval Castle Gates - it is more like entering a small village with what seems to be a row of cottages as well as the usual tower and battlements. An interesting place to look around with small shop and information centre. |
