| The
Isle of Barra, is on the most southerly and western part of the
Outer Hebrides and is a great escape. You can get there by taking a ferry from Oban which takes around 5 hours and is one of the most scenic boat rides you will ever enjoy - providing it is sunny. Once there you can enjoy some stunning scenery and beautiful beaches. Also great for cycling and walking but if you like flowers the machair in June and July is a sight to behold. When we visited we stayed in the Isle of Barra Hotel above this beach which is also good for watching the sunsets. More beautiful places - click here! |
