Stone effigy of Lawrence of Arabia
Placed in the ancient Saxon church of St Martin on the Walls in Wareham is an effigy of TE Lawrence of Arabia.
He has Arabic dress and a curved dagger in his hand. By his head ( on the other side there are 2 of his favourite books Greek Anthology of Verse & the Oxford Book of English Verse.
You may also wish to visit his charming hideaway home at Clouds Hill. Take time however to look at the rest of this pretty church.
