Clouds Hill, Dorset - Bolthole of Lawrence of Arabia ( National Trust )
We had been meaning to visit this place for some years and we were pleased when we did.
The cottage bought by Lawrence in 1925 set in deep Dorset countryside is evocative and charming. One can almost visualise Lawrence at home here far from the maddening crowd. The cottage has been lovingly restored and there is only room for a few visitors at a time. 
There is an exhibition of his life here.
He died in 1935 in a motor cycle accident whist living at the cottage.
