'Share Britain'
Broadstairs

Broadstairs is a picturesque seaside town in Kent, a favourite of Charles Dickens. He would still recognise the town as it has changed little since he used to stay, and he wrote David Copperfield in the house visible top left in this photo (now named 'Bleak House'). His association with the town is commemorated by the annual Charles Dickens Festival, held since 1937.
The town has several delightful sandy beaches, pictured here is Viking Bay with the sunlit jetty partially reflected in the water at low tide. Now that the high speed rail link with St Pancras has started the town is only an hour away from Central London.
