| The
small community of Corran is situated at the end of the road which winds
up and down amongst wonderful scenery down to Glenelg. The road then
passes through the beautiful seaside village of Arnisdale
eventually arriving at the small community of Corran. The community was once heavily involved in Herring fishing and the corrugated roofs you can see are the tops of the old herring sheds. Today the place is a quiet oasis with the well known 'tea hut' where you can have a cuppa and cake. Well worth the drive and on the way you could also visit Sandaig Bay where Gavin Maxwell once lived. (Author of Ring of Brightwater) More beautiful places - click here! |
